Villarreal win their first two LaLiga matches with two clean sheets
A spectacular start. Villarreal have kicked off the league season well, with two important away wins against Real Valladolid and Atlético de Madrid (0-2). Unai Emery’s side have scored five goals and have yet to concede any, showing efficiency in attack and solidity in defence.
The Submarine’s best starts
After winning the first two games, the Yellow Submarine will try and extend their momentum this Sunday against Getafe (Sunday, 7:30pm CEST). Throughout their time in the top flight, the Submarine have only won their first three matches once. In the 2013/14 season, the Yellows started the campaign by beating UD Almería (2-3), Real Valladolid (2-1) and CA Osasuna (0-3).
In the 2001/02 season, like the current campaign, Villarreal also won their first two games against Rayo Vallecano (1-2) and CA Osasuna (3-0).
