Villarreal CF and RCD Espanyol have come to an agreement for the transfer of the Catalonian striker

Villarreal CF have reached a transfer agreement with RCD Espanyol for striker Gerard Moreno, who will be linked to the club for the next five seasons. The striker returns to the Yellow Submarine after playing for Espanyol for the last three seasons.

Gerard Moreno was born in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Barcelona on 7th April 1992. The talented footballer, now 26 years old, came to the Villarreal CF Academy back in 2010, when he played for the U19 A team and scored 30 goals in his first season, making his debut that same year with the Villarreal B team in the Second Division A.

Moreno made his debut with the first team in 2012 in the Second Division A and was one of the key players to help the Yellows get promoted back up to the First Division. In the 2014/15 season, he made the big step up by scoring 16 goals in all competitions. After his time at Espanyol, where he scored 39 goals in three seasons, the forward returns to the Yellow Submarine to become one of the pillars of the team.

Gerard is a left-footed, hardworking, quality striker who is strong in the air and has a great finish ability. He always has the goal in sight but also has the virtue to link up with his teammates. As a talent developed at the Villarreal CF Academy (Cantera Grogueta), it is a most anticipated return.

Welcome back, Gerard!
