Trigueros predicts a “tough and complicated match” in Barcelona
Today at midday the Villarreal CF centre midfielder, Manu Trigueros, assured that el Espanyol will be a tough rival this Saturday (18:15 CET): “El Espanyol are a different team when they play at home. They are intense, aggressive and dangerous, therefore we expect a tough and complicated match”.
According to the Yellows number 14, the team has prepared conscientiously for this match so they can get back to winning ways after their draw against Real Betis in El Madrigal: “We’re ok, it has been a different week of training as the draw has served us and we’ve worked on new tactics. It’s also strange not to play midweek, but good because we’ve been able to work harder, as well as recuperate and prepare completely for what’s to come”.
Trigueros believes it will be key to play better in attack to get the three points at the RCDE Stadium: “We’ve worked on attacking to get back to the way we were finishing and we hope to improve. It’s unusual for this team not to be creating chances, it’s true that we prioritize this less because we win many games, but we must improve in our attack. Teams study us and try to make it hard for us by finding ways to stop us getting through them. We just need to work harder and look to get to goal from the wings more”.
The centre midfielder finished by praising the Submarine season so far, in which they have equalled their best first half of the season league performance in history with 39 points: “It’s no coincidence that we’re fourth, we are a very competitive team, solid in defence and that gets us a lot of points”.
