Marcelino emphasizes the need to beat Las Palmas to stay in their privileged position

In today’s press conference the Villarreal manager, Marcelino García Toral, talked about tomorrow’s clash against Las Palmas (El Madrigal, 6:15pm) and that a victory against the island based side is really important to achieve their objective, even more so as the Yellows’ upcoming fixtures are very intense. “They are three very, very important points, with five home games left now. And they are key to achieving our objective. Whatever win will be a step forward to maintain fourth place and move even closer to third. The game against Las Palmas will be difficult because all matches are now. The teams at the top of the table are beating teams from the bottom convincingly and we need to do that too”.

Furthermore, the manager stressed the power of tomorrow’s rival. “Las Palmas come to us playing very well. They’ve picked up some good results, they were close against Sevilla and Barça and we have to give them the utmost respect. But respect from us all: players, management team and fans alike. What we really need is to win and the support of the fans is very important, especially in the difficult times, because we’re in a situation where we’re not thinking about those a lot, because thanks to the great work we’ve put in we’re on a good run and we have to keep making the most of it”.
