Marcelino believes the key to victory against Sporting will be to give “100%”
The main thing is to win. The Villarreal manager, Marcelino García Toral, explained today that, independent of equalling any record (if the yellows beat Sporting on Sunday at 12pm CET they will equal their best ever first half of the season in their history in La Liga), what is really key is to take the three points so that we can keep fighting to achieve our goals. “This is a very important game, there are many top of the table clashes and we play at home. More so than to equal any record, the most important thing is to keep getting the points. And to get them, we will have to give the best of ourselves. There are never more or less adequate opponents, we cannot make the mistake of thinking like this. What’s more, we have the experience of playing against lower teams and not beating them, so we must not think anything of the sort. We have the utmost respect for Sporting, we need to say it, to have it in our minds and above all, show it on the pitch. We know that to not have this respect and to not be at our highest level could cost us”.
