Sara Monforte highlighted the team’s excitement about the match against Valencia CF after a week of reflecting on recent results (Sunday, 4pm CET)

Villarreal Women’s coach, Sara Monforte, appeared before the media at the press conference prior to the match against Valencia CF Femenino, corresponding to matchday 7 of the Finetwork Liga F. The game will take place on Sunday 30th October, from 4pm CET, at the Mini Estadi of the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza. These are the statements of the Grogueta coach:

Key points of the match

“It has been a very good week of training after two games in which we have seen a team that is not the one we wanted. Valencia CF are a difficult opponent. In fact, they have improved a lot compared to last year and they have things much clearer. We have made a good reflection and now is the time to turn the situation around”.

The start of the season

“The match against Deportivo Alavés was a bit misleading, because you win 0-4 and you think that everything is easier, but it’s not like that. We’re calm, because it’s a long way off. In fact, I’m convinced that we’ll have a good game on Sunday.

The derby

“It’s motivating, because it brings out that competitive side of you. In the end it’s three points, but for me the most important thing is the form and to see that your team works. What I didn’t like in these two games was to see a team that was defeated and wasn’t competitive. The important thing is to see that the team wants to”.

Supporters

“Sunday is a derby, so for any Valencian it has to be one of the best games in women’s football. We’re playing on a great pitch, where the players will give their all. It will be a great spectacle, I hope all the Villarreal fans can come to the game because we need them and they will be important to get the three points”.
