Villarreal CF and Correos have collaborated to commemorate the 100 years of the club
Villarreal CF and Correos have reached a collaboration agreement to issue a commemorative stamp for the club’s centenary. The stamp was issued on 22nd March and will soon be on sale.
To celebrate its centenary, the entire Villarreal family experienced and enjoyed a year full of events, memories and tributes to all the people who, with their effort, dedication and passion for their colours, made the club great. Figures such as the vice-president José Manuel Llaneza and many others led the club to become what it is today. In fact, during the centenary year, the presentation of the new name of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground was held in his memory.
Major events and celebrations formed the backbone of the commemoration of Villarreal CF’s centenary, such as the tribute to the former presidents, a tour of activities around the province of Castellón or a tribute concert to the guitarist Francesc Tàrrega. The Centenary Party and the Legends’ Match at the Estadio de la Cerámica deserve special mention. In addition, the Centenary anthem composed by Nacho Cano, the centenary book and the documentary ‘100 anys de pel-lícula’ (100 years of film) were released.
Correos joins the centenary celebrations by putting the finishing touch with the issue of this stamp.
