Miguel Álvarez has analysed the upcoming game with Sabadell at the Nova Creu Alta

Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez spoke ahead of the upcoming match against CE Sabadell in Primera RFEF. The match will take place on Friday (7pm CEST) at the Nova Creu Alta.

In good form

“When you win, everything is easier. Winning or losing can’t take us off the path we’re on, but when you’re winning, it’s easier to be excited.”

The opposition

“I’m expecting a very tough game. Sabadell are a sleeping lion. They have a good infrastructure, and they are calm on an institutional level. They’ve put together a very good squad, and they have good coaches. It’s true that bad results can mean that you get some doubts. There is a very fine line between winning and losing, and they’ve done enough to have more points. We are going to try and be strong as much as possible. The fact that they haven’t won makes them a more dangerous opponent, no doubt about it. If you ask any coach in the league, they’ll tell you that Sabadell should be towards the top.”

What the team needs to do

“Above all, we can’t let them wake up, and we need to be ourselves. We will have more chances of winning the game if we play like that, but if we let them play their football and show their individual quality, we will find it harder. I’m expecting a tough match because they’ll be fired on by their fans.”

Yeremy

“Those of us who are at the Training Ground all knew that he would be an international one day. He’s a boy who continues to be humble. In pre-season, he came to see us. He works better every day, and despite his individual quality, he also is great without the ball. With the U21s, he was great, and the next step up was the senior squad. We sensed it, like you could with other youngsters, such as Samu Chukwueze and Álex Baena. Things like this back up the hard work and methodology of the coaches in the academy and the first team, who are always backing players from the youth system. If they didn’t, all this hard work wouldn’t work.”
