Midfielder Cristina Díaz is the latest reinforcement for Sara Monforte’s side
The Ladies first-team have added talent and quality to their engine room. Villarreal CF have reached an agreement for Cristina Diaz to join Sara Monforte’s outfit during the current 2018/19 season.
Cristina Díaz is a young and promising attacking midfielder. The 21-year-old came through the youth ranks at Villarreal, and the footballer from Onda is returning to the Yellows, after two years away at Valencia B, where she won the Segunda División.
The Ladies side have strengthened in the summer market with no less than eight new faces. María Sanjuán (goalkeeper), Yolando Palomino (defender), Lara Mata (defender), Clara Martínez (midfielder), Najara Ves (forward), Laura Royo (forward) and Sheila Guijarro (forward) all also arrived before of the start of the season.

Cristina Díaz expressed her excitement to get the new stage of her career at Villarreal CF underway: “I am returning to the club with a lot of excitement. I can be close to home and I can play in a team where there is a fantastic atmosphere. I am convinced that we can achieve great things.” The Yellows midfielder also praised the level of the Sara Monforte’s squad, adding: “We have a very strong side, capable of competing against any of our rivals. The Ladies A team is at the beginning of a very exciting project and I wanted to be part of it.”
