Villarreal CF won 0-2 at the Riverside Stadium against Middlesbrough in its third preseason game thanks to the goals of Gerard Moreno and Nahuel Leiva. The Submarine was above the home side and took the lead in the first half after two beautiful plays of Cheryshev from the left. Gerard Moreno opened the score by pouncing on a rebound of Boro’s keeper after Cheryshev’s cross. Then, after another great move of the Russian winger, Nahuel scored the second goal with a powerful shot just before half-time.
All the yellow players could participate yesterday and Jonathan dos Santos played his first minutes for Villarreal after replacing Bruno in the second half.
The next friendly will take place on Saturday August 9th against Swansea City.
