The Catalan striker has returned early with the UEFA Super Cup in mind and is now training alongside his team-mates
Gerard Moreno has returned to training at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva)! The Catalan forward brought forward his return from holidays and is now hard at work at the club. The footballer underwent the pertinent medical tests at 8:30am CEST and then immediately joining his team-mates in his first training session of summer. Gerard is now hard at work with the UEFA Super Cup on the horizon. That historic game will take place on 11th August at 9pm CEST against Chelsea at Windsor Park in Belfast.
The Villarreal attacker has joined pre-season later than many of his team-mates after taking part in the European Championships with Spain. Luis Enrique’s side were a step away from the final, losing to Italy on penalties in the semi-finals. Gerard, alongside Pau Torres, represented the Yellows, in the continental tournament. The forward scored 30 goals last season for Villarreal in all competitions (23 in LaLiga and seven in the Europa League). Once more, Gerard underlined his commitment to the club by bringing forward his return after the summer.
