The Yellows Academy has a good amount of representation in the first cut of 132 footballers

A total of eight footballers formed in Villarreal’s youth ranks have been selected by the Fútbol Draft 2019 Technical Committee as part of the best national talent aged between 16 and 20.

Fúubol Draft has revealed the 132 young promises who this season will try and win a place in the Golden, Silver and Bronze XIs of Spanish youth football. Throughout 2019, Futbol Draft will have other committee sessions where they will cut the list to 77 and then 55 players, before making the aforementioned XIs.

The Technical Committee, which is presided over by former national-team selector Iñaki Sáez, also saw the presence of Javier Lasagabaster (CEO Futbol Draft®), Francis Hernández  (RFEF national team co-ordinator), Luis de la Fuente (U21 selector), Santi Denia (U19 selector), David Gordo (U17 selector), Julen Guerrero (U16 selector), Jacinto Alonso (Federación Riojana president and RFEF board member), Miguel Hernández (AFE), Ángel Caballero (AEAF – Asociación Española Agentes Jugadores), Raúl Ojeda y Ricardo Resta (LaLiga), Vicente Miera (former Spain senior side selector), Nacho Silván, (youth football expert), Aritz Gabilondo (youth football expert) y Ana Rossell (women’s football expert).

The Yellows Academy players picked in the list of 132 are the following:

  • Left-back: Goyo Medina (Villarreal C, 2000)
  • Right centre-back: Joan Salvá (Villarreal C, 1999)
  • Left centre-back: Pepe Castaño (Villarreal B, 1998)
  • Right-sided central midfielder: Manu Morlanes (Villarreal B, 1999)
  • Left-sided central midfielder: Carlos Beitia (Villarreal C, 2000)
  • Left-sided central midfielder: Iván Morante (Juvenil A, 2001)
  • Left winger: Iván Martín (Villarreal B, 1999)
  • No.10: Alejandro Baena (Juvenil A, 2001)
