The French footballers surprised youngsters from CEIP José Soriano in Vila-real
Villarreal midfielder Étienne Capoue visited the CEIP José Soriano school in Vila-real this Thursday thanks to the ‘A Star In Your School’ as part of the Endavant Club Groguet intiative. It was the first visit in person from a Yellows footballer since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The students from the school in Vila-real were able to ask all sorts of questions about the Submarine and his journey as a professional footballer in a fun chat between the players and the youngsters. Capoue also had time for a photograph with the children. Finally, they all went to the playground to play a bit of football with their idol, who took penalties against the youngsters.
Villarreal, reaching youngsters through Endavant Club Groguet
Through the ‘A Star In Your School’ initiative, Villarreal CF have been bringing the club closer to youngsters since the 2014/15 season. A number of men’s and women’s first-team players have visited educational centres throughout the province of Castellón.
During the pandemic, the club reinvented the activity, with an online format that still saw the Yellows players meet youngsters throughout the province.
From now on, throughout the rest of the season, Villarreal men’s and women’s first-team players will visit more schools to get to know and have fun alongside youngsters. As well as the visit from the Villarreal stars, the educational centres can have a free training session from Yellows Academy youngsters, as well as a guided tour of the Estadio de la Cerámica.
