Pervis Estupiñán, Aïssa Mandi and Serge Aurier have scored in the matches they have played with their national teams

Villarreal CF’s internationals have been the stars of the show in the matches with their national teams. Ivory Coast’s Serge Aurier and Ecuador’s Pervis Estupiñán have scored goals and played full games in their national teams’ wins against Zambia (3-1) and Nigeria (1-0), respectively. Aïssa Mandi was also on target in Algeria’s 2-0 win over Uganda. The yellow defender, in addition to scoring, played the full 90 minutes.

Argentina’s Giovani Lo Celso, Juan Foyth and Gero Rulli lifted the Conmebol-UEFA Champions Cup last week after beating Italy 3-0. The yellow midfielder started and played 90 minutes, while his Villarreal teammates did not get any playing time. The Albiceleste returned to the pitch last Sunday to face Estonia (5-0). In that match, Juan Foyth played a total of 24 minutes.

The Spanish national team have drawn their two UEFA Nations League matches against Portugal (1-1) and Czech Republic (2-2). Villarreal defender Pau Torres played the full match against the Portuguese national team and did not play against the Central European side. Meanwhile, Boulaye Dia played 67 minutes in Senegal’s 3-1 win over Benin.

Finally, the Nigerian national team, after a friendly tour in the United States, has included Samu Chukwueze in the squad for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers. The ‘Green Eagles’ will face Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe in the coming days.
