Villarreal draws against a solid Betis and remains in fourth place, 6 points above Celta

Villarreal couldn’t break down a strong Real Betis side in El Madrigal and ended up taking away a point, against an opponent that was solid in defence and dangerous on the counter attack. The Yellows missed a few clear chances which would have secured the win, but weren’t clinical enough in front of the Andaluz goal.

The Submarine could have gone in front in the first minute when Soldado hit the post. The Andaluz sideput in a great defensive performance making it all the more difficult for the Yellows, who had a hard job to create any clear chances.

In the second half neither Jonathan, with a right footed strike, Bruno, with a good free kick, nor Adrián Marín, wih a typical forward run from him, could break the deadlock. The scoreline stayed the same and the sharing of points was confirmed with the final whistle.
