The midfielder underlines his commitment to the Yellows after signing a contract extension until 2025
Manu Trigueros has signed a new contract with Villarreal until 2025 and wanted to show his thanks to the Yellows: “I’m very happy to continue here at the club where I have grown as a footballer and as a person, the club that I feel is my home, and where my whole life is. Spending more years at Villarreal makes me happy. CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles also thanked the midfielder: “What he wants and what we want is for him to end his career at Villarreal, and for him to retire here. He’s a player who gives us a lot and score goals. We’re very happy because he’s a very important player who brings a lot to the team.”
The player looked back on the start of his career with the Yellows. “I joined Villarreal C aged 18, I was very young and I joined a great club. They had everything under control and they looked after me in the best way possible. I have great memories, such as the promotion to the top flight, celebrating the header in Murcia in the corner with our fans, or the first title in Villarreal’s history in Gdansk. That is going to be a memory of mine for all of my life.”
Roig Negueroles added: “The first half of a season he had at Villarreal C wasn’t easy, but then his trajectory was rapid until he joined the first team, where he consolidated his place when we were in Segunda and then became a very important player. Every year, he plays more than 30 games.”
Finally, Trigueros underlined his feelings for the club, with whom he identifies, “This is my home, I’m just another groguet, and I feel that Villarreal is my team. I suffer when we lose and my mood changes a lot if we win or lose. I want to continue performing well to give happiness to the fans.”
