The club and the financial institution extend their partnership with benefits for season-ticket holders and joint activities
Villarreal CF has signed a renewal agreement with CaixaBank as the club’s official sponsor and financial partner through the end of the 2028/29 season. The deal was signed at the Estadio de la Cerámica by Villarreal CF CEO, Fernando Roig Negueroles, and Olga García, CaixaBank’s regional director in the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia. CaixaBank’s long-standing support, which began in 2013, is now extended until June 2029.
The agreement includes collaboration in the financial sphere, such as CaixaBank issuing bank cards for the club’s season-ticket holders, members, and supporters. These cards feature all the advantages of Visa contactless technology and are personalised with the club’s colours and crest. Cardholders will also gain access to exclusive initiatives, including special customer matches at the club’s official facilities—just like a professional player.
As the club’s financial partner, CaixaBank will also deliver financial-education sessions to the first team squad and coaching staff, covering topics such as the importance of training, planning, and financial advice in managing savings and investment.
In addition, Villarreal CF and CaixaBank will jointly organise activities aimed at fans, including meet & greet events with first-team players and a range of draws and promotions via the club’s official communication channels. The goal of these initiatives is to bring the club closer to its fans and to reinforce CaixaBank’s position as the bank of football clubs and their supporters in Spain.
The sponsorship deal also includes brand-rights benefits, hospitality packages for clients, and visibility across the stadium, training ground, and the club’s communication platforms. CaixaBank will also be able to use selected assets to carry out special initiatives with social organisations in the region, further demonstrating its commitment to the community.
CaixaBank, the bank of football clubs
Thirteen seasons ago, CaixaBank strengthened its commitment to football to become the reference bank for clubs and their supporters. This strategy has established the institution as the official sponsor of 14 LaLiga clubs and 14 Second Division clubs. In addition, CaixaBank is a sponsor of 9 of the 16 teams competing in the top tier of women’s football.
For CaixaBank, sports sponsorship is a strategic communication tool that promotes values shared with sport, such as leadership, effort, improvement, and teamwork. Through sponsorship, the financial institution supports cultural, social, and economic progress, in line with its foundational values of commitment to society.
CaixaBank drives numerous initiatives to bring clubs closer to their supporters while generating business opportunities. In each agreement, the bank works with clubs to offer unique experiences to fans and exclusive financial benefits. The aim of this strategy is to enhance brand visibility, attract and retain supporters as new customers, and capitalise on commercial opportunities arising from joint actions with sponsored football clubs.
