The Yellows No.7 hopes to be able to continue enjoying football and compete to help the team reach their objectives
Gerard Moreno appeared before the media this Wednesday to assess the season so far after the team’s return to work following the Christmas break and revealed his aims for 2025:
Looking forward to competing again
“I’m really looking forward to competing, because we haven’t been competing for many days now. It’s true that we are training hard, but we need the competition to come, especially because we won the last away game against Leganés and we want to continue in this vein.”
A goal for 2025
“I hope to continue along the lines of the last month, improving, above all, physically and mentally. I’m feeling better and better and I’m going to try to make 2025 a happy year. If we are happy it means that there are no physical problems, that we are doing well in the league, that we are achieving our objectives and that’s why I also stress continuity, to play a lot of games.”
Third highest scoring team
“It’s a fact that makes us optimistic and that makes us stronger, because we arrive with a lot of people, we make chances and we score goals. The fact that we’re a good team offensively has to strengthen the team, because that means we’ll be at the top for sure. We have to try to keep improving, to keep working on the things we haven’t done so well in the first few games and to reinforce what we are doing well.”
Ambition to play in Europe
“I think we have the capacity to win a lot of games. We have a squad that has the desire, that wants to fight to achieve beautiful objectives such as being in Europe next season. I see that the squad is mentally prepared to try to achieve this objective and that’s what our mentality has to be, to keep winning games to put pressure on other teams. We have to focus on what we do, but obviously we have to win a lot of games to be in third or fourth place.”
A very important month of January
“We are only focused on the first game, which is quite difficult, but obviously in January we have several games against direct rivals. We have to focus on each game and we are working to get points against this first direct opponent, Real Sociedad.”
