The Villarreal captain makes his 250th league appearance for the Yellows

Bruno Soriano just keeps on making history at Villarreal CF. After playing against Real Sociedad, the midfielder has disputed a spectacular 250 matches in the First Division for the Submarine, starting against the side from San Sebastian. Therefore, he moves into second place in the history of league appearances at the club, only beaten by another legend that is Marcos Senna, who made 259 appearances in the top flight.

The centre midfielder fom Artana made his debut almost 10 years ago. It was on 1st October 2006, in what was then known as the Ono Estadi, against Mallorca. That day, Manuel Pellegrini gave him his debut and he played 24 minutes in the victory against the Balearic island side. From that moment on, his legend has not stopped growing.

Bruno has amounted 16 goals and 13 assists for Villarreal, as well as bringing many other intangible qualities to the Yellows such as strength, balance, intelligence and leadership. What’s more, he has helped the team to achieve 116 wins and 70 draws.

It should also be mentioned that Bruno is already the player to have played the most official matches for Villarreal CF, taking into account all competitions. The Yellows number 21 has played 286 league matches in the First Division (250) and Second Division A (36), 63 in Europe among them the Champions League (14), UEFA Cup (6), Europa League (42) and Intertoto Cup (1) and 27 matches in the Copa del Rey.
