The Algerian defender joins Villarreal for the next four seasons
Villarreal CF have reached an agreement with Aïssa Mandi, who will play in yellow for the next four seasons (until June 2025). The French-Algerian footballer joins the Submarine as a free agent after his contract expired at Real Betis Balompié.
The footballer will join the rest of his team-mates when they return to pre-season training on XXth July. His official presentation as a Villarreal CF player will be confirmed shortly.
Mandi, secure and efficient
Aïssa Mandi (Chalons-en-Champagne, France, 22/10/1991) is an efficient defender, who dominates in the air and has good positioning.
Aged 29, he has vast experience in Spanish football after having played 173 games with Real Betis Balompié. Despite being a defender, he scored eight goals and provides four assists for the Andalusian side. He also played for Stade Reims, featuring in 169 games before joining the side from Seville in 2016.
Mandi has also represented Algeria at international level, and has 60 caps, representing them in the World Cup 2014.
