The Submarine will play European football next season after having confirmed, at least, seventh place in LaLiga
Villarreal will play in Europe once more next season. Unai Emery’s side have confirmed their place in continential competition next season after beating Sevilla FC (4-0). The Yellows can now finish no lower than seventh and go into the final game of LaLiga with the chance of finishing even higher, in fifth of sixth.
Should Villarreal finish LaLiga in seventh, the Yellows would play in the UEFA Conference League, while if they were to finish fifth or sixth, they would play in the UEFA Europa League.
As well as their chances vis the league, Villarreal could also play in the UEFA Champinos League, should they win the Europa League final against Manchester United in Gdansk (26th May).
Including the upcoming season, the Yellows will have played 17 (15 not including the Intertoto Cup) seasons in European competition, out of the 22 campaigns they will have played in the top flight of Spanish football. Impressive.
