Pau Francisco Torres (Vila-real, Castellón, 16/01/1997) is a young, left-footed centre-back with a great ability to play out from the back. His height means that he is always a threat from set-pieces. Furthermore, he has great acceleration and is always well-positioned on the pitch. He is one of the players who helped Villarreal to win their first ever Europa League trophy.
Developed at Villarreal’s academy, Pau represented the B team throughout the 2016/17 campaign, playing 34 times and scoring twice. That same season, he made his first team debut in the Copa Del Rey. In 2018/19, the defender from Vila-Real was loaned out to Málaga before making the permanent step up to the first team and becoming a key central defender for Villarreal. Despite his young age, he is a full international with the Spanish national team.
