The Argentine defender will play for the Yellows for the next five seasons
Villarreal CF have taken up the purchase option on Juan Foyth, who played for the Yellows on loan during the 2020/21 season. The Argentine player will be a ‘groguet’ for the next five campaigns (until June 2026).
Juan Marcos Foyth (La Plata, Argentina, 12/01/1998) is a versatile defender, who can play at right-back, centre-back and even as a defensive midfielder. The Argentine stands out for his strength, capacity of anticipation and defensive ability.
In his first season as a Yellow, he played a total of 32 games (16 in LaLiga, 12 in the Europa League and four in the Copa del Rey). He was the ninth most-used played by head coach Unai Emery (2,448 minutes), becoming a crucial footballer in the Yellows’ conquest of the UEFA Europa League.
Foyth is an international with Argentina, with 12 caps for his country. Before playing for Villarreal, the young defender represented Tottenham Hotspur (England) and Estudiantes de La Plata (Argentina).
Welcome, Juan Foyth!
