The Yellows full-back progresses from the group stages with Ecuador in the continental tournament
Pervis Estupiñán has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Copa América 2021 with Ecuador thanks to a draw (1-1) with Brazil. The Yellows left-back played the full 90 minutes of the game, just as he did in the last three encounters for ‘LaTri’, as is nicknamed the Ecuador national team, whose fourth place finish in Group B sees them go through to the next round. Brazil, Peru and Colombia were the other teams to qualify from Ecuador’s group, while Venezuela was knocked out.
Estupiñán has played in all four group games:
- Colombia vs Ecuador: 1-0.
- Venezuela vs Ecuador: 2-2.
- Ecuador vs Peru: 2-2
- Brazil vs Ecuador: 1-1
‘La Tri’ will take on either Argentina or Paraguay in the quarters, both of whom will play their final group games today.
