Villarreal CF has come to an agreement with Manchester City for the transfer of the Turkish forward

Villarreal CF has come to an agreement with Manchester City FC for the transfer of young forward Enes Ünal, who will be linked to the Submarine for the next five seasons. The Turkish footballer is one of the most promising footballers in Europe at just 20 years of age. He played for Dutch side FC Twente Enschede last season and is the Yellows’ first reinforcement ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Enes Ünal (Bursa, Turkey, 10th May 1997) grew up playing for Bursapor, one of the classic Turkish sides (54 matches, 7 goals). In July 2015, the attacker signed for Manchester City FC, from where he was loaned to Belgian side KRC Genk (14 matches, 2 goals). Shortly after, in February 2016, Ünal moved to Dutch side NAC Breda (14 matches, 9 goals).

His great performance in Holland attracted the attention of Dutch giants FC Twente, who took him on loan in the summer of 2016. During last season, the striker became the great revelation in the Eredivisie after scoring 19 goals in 33 matches, making him one of the top goal scorers of the season, just 3 goals behind the top goal scorer in Holland’s top flight.

Furthermore, Ünal is also a regular in the Turkey national team. After playing for the youth age groups -and scoring 25 goals in 24 matches for the U16s-, he went on to represnt the Turkey U19 and U21 teams before making his debut at just 17 years old with the senior national team (5 matches) against Luxembourg.

He is a strong player of great stature, but also posseses great technical ability with the ball at his feet: dribbling, change of pace, a knack for getting in behind the defence and attacking the goal. Strong in the air, Ünal also has a powerful shot and is dangerous on set plays, making him the complete footballer at just 20 years old.
