Villarreal CF and José Rojo Martín ‘Pacheta’ have reached an agreement for the manager from Burgos to become the Submarine’s head coach for the rest of this season. Alongside Pacheta, Chema Monzón (assistant head coach), Jorge Trigueros (fitness coach) and Guille Galmes (analyst) have all joined the club.

Hee will be officially presented in the press room at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground in an event aimed exclusively at the media. This event will be broadcast via VILLARREAL LIVE.

First training session open to the public

On Monday morning, Pacheta will take charge of his first training session, also at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground. The session will be open to the public so that any fans who want to can welcome the new head coach and see their idols up close.

José Rojo Martín ‘Pacheta’ (Salas de los Infantes, Burgos, 23rd March 1968) had a long career as a professional footballer, playing for teams such as Numancia, Espanyol, Mérida, Real Burgos, Atlético Marbella and Racing Lermeño.

His career as a professional head coach began on the bench of CD Numancia, and he later managed Real Oviedo, FC Cartagena, Korona Kielce of Poland, Hercules, Ratchaburi Mitr Phol of Thailand, Elche, Huesca and Valladolid. His successes as a head coach include two promotions to the First Division with Elche and Valladolid. In fact, it is worth mentioning that with the Elche team he achieved two promotions, one to the second division and the other to the first division.

Villarreal CF and Pacheta join forces. The Submarine’s next game will be on Sunday 17th September at the Estadio de la Cerámica against UD Almería (4:15pm CEST). Endavant!
