Villarreal CF reinforce their goalkeeping options with the arrival of the Brazilian shot-stopper – a player of high quality and outstanding potential – on a deal until 2030
Villarreal CF have reached an agreement with FC Famalicao to sign Luiz Júnior, who joins the Yellows on a six-year deal until June 2030.
The Brazilian goalkeeper will take part in his first training session under the orders of Marcelino García Toral this afternoon, in the first session after the match against Atlético de Madrid. The Rio de Janeiro-born player will be officially presented as a new Yellows player on Wednesday at 1pm CEST. The unveiling will take place in front of the media in the press room at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
A goalkeeper with excellent qualities and great potential
Luiz Lúcio Reis Júnior (Picos, Brazil, 14th January 2001) is a young Brazilian goalkeeper who is young and has great potential. At an impressive 1.93 metres, he is quick between the posts, he is able to dominate aerial duels and has excellent reflexes – all of which make him a very talented goalkeeper with a big future.
The 23-year-old new signing has experience in European football from his time at Futebol Clube Famalicao de Portugal, the team he joined at 18 years of age, before going on to make 140 first-team appearances.
Now, Luiz Júnior takes an exciting new step in his professional career, by moving to Villarreal CF and testing himself in the top flight of Spanish football, one of the best leagues in world football.
