The spectacular Côte d’Ivoire international will play for the Yellows until 30th June 2026
Villarreal CF have reached an agreement with Nicolas Pépé for the French-Ivorian player to play in yellow for the next two seasons, until 30th June 2026. The skilful new Submarine player, who is left-footed, usually plays on the right side of the attack, although he can also play anywhere in attack. Quick, agile, skilful in one-on-one situations and with a powerful shot. A real spectacle for the Submarine’s fans.
The player will train alongside his team-mates tomorrow for the first time at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground (10am CEST). Details of his official presentation will be confirmed shortly.
An impact signing
Nicolas Pépé (Mantes-la-Jolie, France, 29/05/1995) started his professoinal career in Stade Poitevin in France, before later joining Angers SCO in 2013 and playing on loan at US Orléans. After returning to Angers, he joined LOSC Lille, a team where he shone for two seasons. It was there where he caught the attention of Arsenal, who made a multi-million-pound move for his services to excite their fans.
He spent three seasons with the Gunners, before playing on loan for OGC Nice in the 2022/23 season. Last year, Pépé joined Trabzonspor as a free agent, playing a season in Turkey.
Now aged 29, Pépé has played 323 matches in his career, scoring 92 goals and providing 47 assists.
International with Côte d’Ivoire
Nicolas Pépé is a Côte d’Ivoire international. He made his debut for the Elephants in 2016, and has since played a total of 44 matches for them, scoring ten goals and providing four assists.
