The academy in Alabang becomes the first official partner of the club in the Asian country
Villarreal CF, thanks to its international expansion project Villarreal Academy, has reached a partnership agreement to open the club’s first academy in the Philippines. The academy will be located in Alabang, a district of the city of Muntinlupa, 25 kilometres from the country’s capital, Manila. The academy will open its doors in April with a clinic, where a Villarreal CF coach will be present to help select players for the Villarreal CF teams for the Villarreal CF summer tournaments in Spain in June.
The Villarreal Philippines Academy will provide unrivalled opportunities for football players from across the Asian country to implement the club’s innovative approach to player and coach development. The selected players of the Villarreal Philippines Academy will have the opportunity to visit Villarreal CF’s facilities and play friendly matches against teams from the Yellows Academy.
The director of the Villarreal Philippines Academy, Eumir Siao, has a clear mission for the academy and is excited to work with Villarreal CF to improve the standard of football in the Philippines: “With our vision to raise the standard of youth football in the Philippines, it was easy for us to partner with Villarreal CF as we believe they can help us to achieve this. One thing we love about Villarreal CF is the club family and the community and this is exactly what we are looking to bring to the Philippines. We are just an island and we want to develop football in our nation, and I think it is a perfect marriage between a successful club and a country that needs to raise our football standards”..
Villarreal CF has different academies around the world, having presence in the five continents through countries such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Israel, Bolivia, South Korea or Malaysia, among others, thanks to the Villarreal Academy project.
