Villarreal and the Japanese embassy have organised this event on sports nutrition with Japanese products
Villarreal CF and the Japanese Embassy in Spain held the first Spain and Japan Football and Food Conference on Monday at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
The aim of the day was to present tofu and other Japanese ingredients as an alternative to traditional proteins, offering vegetable options to enrich the eating habits of elite athletes.
The day began in the press room of the Estadio de la Cerámica with a welcome from the director of Villarreal CF’s medical and nutritional services, Héctor Usó, and a greeting from the first secretary of economy of the Japanese Embassy in Spain, Ryohei Shikata.
This was followed by a talk on tofu, led by Masaya Kobayashi, general manager of Somenoya, and a tasting of Japanese products.
Later, the day moved on to El Ceramista Restaurant, where a cooking workshop on how to cook tofu was led by chef Yoshikazu Yanome, goodwill ambassador for the promotion of Japanese gastronomy.
To round off the event, there was a tasting of dishes made with this prestigious Japanese ingredient.
