The Andalusian defender joins the Submarine on loan for the 2025/26 season
Villarreal CF and SSC Napoli have reached an agreement for the loan of Rafa Marín, who will play for the Yellow Submarine during the upcoming 2025/26 campaign. The loan deal for the Seville-born centre-back includes a purchase option.
Rafael Marín Zamora (Guadajoz, Seville, 19th May 2002) is a young right-footed central defender with an imposing frame and strong physical presence. He is quick and aggressive in defence, dominant in the air, and excels at winning back possession and in one-on-one duels. He also possesses an excellent long-range passing ability.
The promising defender came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid. During the 2023/24 season, he played on loan at Deportivo Alavés, where he became a key player, making 42 official appearances in the top flight of Spanish football.
After his standout performances with the Basque side, Marín signed for SSC Napoli, with whom he featured in just six matches last season, despite the club being crowned Serie A champions.
