Villarreal CF and AFC Ajax have reached an agreement for the transfer of Argentine goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli, who will now play for the Dutch club.
Rulli arrived at the Yellow Submarine in the 2020/21 season and from the very first moment he won the affection of the Yellows fans. In total, the Argentine goalkeeper played 80 games for Villarreal CF (48 in LaLiga, 13 in the UEFA Europa League, 12 in the UEFA Champions League and seven in the Copa del Rey).
Gero Rulli will also go down in history as the goalkeeper who saved the decisive penalty in the UEFA Europa League final in Gdansk that won Villarreal CF their first title. His name will always remain in the memory of the Submarine’s fans.
