The Jamaica international signs for Villarreal Women for one season
Villarreal Women have reached an agreement with Kayla McKenna, who becomes a new Yellows player after finishing her time at Rangers FC.
The new Villarreal striker will join the squad after the Women’s World Cup in which she is taking part representing Jamaica.
A goalscoring sensation for Villarreal
Kayla Jay McKenna (3rd September 1996, Illinois, USA), is a fast player with a great finishing ability that allows her to play in any of the three attacking positions.
Born in the United States, but a Jamaican international – for whom she has scored two goals in six appearances – McKenna has a wealth of experience in international football. After a brief spell in US football with the Houston Dash, the 27-year-old made the leap to European football, signing for Rangers FC, scoring 30 goals in 57 appearances for the Scottish side.
In addition, she was Scottish Women’s Premier League champion in the 2021/22 season and Sky Sports Cup champion in the 2022/23 season.
