The French midfielder is one of the footballers who lifted the UEFA Europa League in the 2020/21 season
Francis Coquelin and Villarreal CF have parted ways. The Frenchman ends his time at the club after four seasons in which he made history by lifting the historic UEFA Europa League title in 2021, playing in the UEFA Super Cup and reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in 2022.
The French midfielder joined the club in the summer of 2020 from Valencia CF. As a Villarreal player, he has made a total of 107 appearances and scored as many as six goals. Some of them as memorable as the one he scored against Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at the Estadio de la Cerámica, which made it 2-0 and levelled the tie before half-time.
After his brilliant spell at Villarreal, the club thanks him for his professionalism and wishes him the best of luck in his new challenges.
