The midfielder, who was under contract until June 2024, has extended his contract for two more seasons

Villarreal CF has reached an agreement with Dani Parejo for the midfielder to renew his contract with the Submarine and defend the yellow shirt for two more seasons.

Dani Parejo’s press conference after his contract renewal will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, at 10:15am CET, in the press room of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground. It will be restricted to the media only.

Parejo, a total and tireless midfielder

Daniel Parejo Muñoz (16/04/89) joined Villarreal CF in the 2020/21 season from Valencia CF. The midfielder – who has also played for Real Madrid, Queens Park Rangers and Getafe – landed on his feet at the Submarine and soon established himself as the boss of the Yellows’ midfield.

So much so that, in his first season with the Submarine, he won the UEFA Europa League, scoring one of the 11 decisive penalties in Gdansk.

A regular in the starting XI and a key figure in the plans of the different managers who have been with the club during his time in Vila-real, Parejo has been the player who, in two of the four seasons he has worn the yellow jersey, has played the most minutes of any player in the squad. In the 2020/21 season he was the player who played the most minutes, accumulating a total of 4,285 in 53 games; in the 2021/22 campaign he played 3,783 minutes in 48 games, being the third player who played the most behind only Pau Torres and Gero Rulli; and last season he was again the member of the squad who played the most minutes with 3,862 minutes in 50 games.

And this season, Dani Parejo continues to be an extremely important player for the club. To date, the midfielder has played a total of 33 games in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
