The Anglo-Chilean striker will play for Villarreal until June 2027

Villarreal CF have reached an agreement with Ben Brereton, who will play for the club for the next four seasons. The Anglo-Chilean attacker joins the club as a free agent after playing for Blackburn Rovers.

Brereton will undergo the necessary medical tests alongside his teammates on 5th July at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground and will participate in his first training session as a Villarreal player on 8th July under Quique Setién.

Benjamin Anthony Brereton Díaz (Stoke-on-Trent, England, 18/04/1999) is a versatile attacking player who stands out for his goalscoring ability, knack for getting around players and physical prowess. The Anglo-Chilean footballer can play in different positions up front, performing just as well as a winger or striker.

At just 24 years old, he is an international and has played a total of 20 matches for Chile, scoring seven goals to date. In the 2022/23 season he made 50 appearances for Blackburn Rovers, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists. 

During his spell at the English club, Ben Brereton played 177 matches, scoring a fantastic tally of 47 goals with 16 assists. Previously, he played for Nottingham Forest where he played 57 matches, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists.
