Villarreal CF and the Balearic club have reached an agreement for the Catalan goalkeeper
Villarreal CF and RCD Mallorca have reached an agreement for the loan of goalkeeper Arnau Tenas. The Catalan shot-stopper will therefore spend the 26/27 season with the Balearic side.
Arnau Tenas came through the youth ranks at FC Barcelona, where he established himself as one of the most promising goalkeepers in Spanish football. In March 2019, at just 17 years old and still a youth player, he made his debut for FC Barcelona B.
His impressive performances for Barça’s B team attracted the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs and, in 2023, Paris Saint-Germain secured his signature. During his time in France, he has won six trophies, including the UEFA Champions League, although he did not enjoy the amount of playing time he would have hoped for.
Among Tenas’ greatest achievements are the Olympic gold medal won at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where he was Spain’s first-choice goalkeeper, and victory at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship with Spain in 2019. The young Catalan goalkeeper has been a regular for Spain’s youth sides and was even included in the senior national team squad in 2022 after stepping up from the U21s.
