The matches against Genoa (7:00 PM) and Real Oviedo (9:00 PM) will be broadcast live on À Punt
Villarreal CF will take part this Thursday, July 31, from 7:00 PM, in a very special triangular tournament held at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium (Oviedo) to celebrate the centenary of the Carbayón club. Both matches involving Marcelino’s side will be broadcast live and free-to-air on À Punt Media.
In addition to the Yellow Submarine and hosts Real Oviedo, Italian side Genoa CFC has also been invited. The Italian club shares a close bond with the Asturian team, as it was the only opponent Real Oviedo ever faced in a European competition.
These three matches won’t just have sporting significance. In addition to celebrating the club’s 100th anniversary, the tournament will pay tribute to Carlos Tartiere, on the 75th anniversary of his passing, and to Santi Cazorla, a symbol and legend of both Real Oviedo and Villarreal CF.
The triangular tournament will be Villarreal CF’s fourth pre-season fixture. After their training camp in Switzerland, which included two draws against FC Basel and St. Gallen FC, and a recent trip to Lisbon where they were defeated by Sporting CP, the team continues to fine-tune their preparation for the start of the season.

- Real Oviedo vs. Villarreal CF – 9:00 PM
In fact, this event will serve as a prelude to a very special season opener, as Real Oviedo will also be Villarreal CF’s first opponent in Matchday 1 of the 2025/26 LALIGA EA Sports season.
