Rafael Marín Zamora (Guadajoz, Seville, 19/05/2002) is a right-footed Spanish central defender, 1.91 m tall. His main skills include physical strength, aerial dominance, and great individual ability.
Rafa Marín matured in Seville's regional football until he made the leap to Real Madrid in 2016/17 at just 14 years old. At Real Madrid's youth academy, he developed as a player and won the UEFA Youth League title in 2020, establishing himself as one of the most promising central defenders in the country.
However, he made the leap to the First Division with Deportivo Alavés on loan (2023-24). His strong season with the Babazorro team earned him the attention of SSC Napoli, who paid his 12 million release clause and headed for Serie A. After a lackluster campaign, he returned to LALIGA on loan with Villarreal CF. He has also played for the national team, being called up to the U-17 and U-18 national teams, and recently, to the U-21 European Championship.
