The Cameroon international striker received the important award from former captain Marcos Senna
A more-than-deserved award. Cameroonian striker Karl Toko Ekambi received the LaLiga October Player of the Month award during the build-up to the tie with Celta Vigo. Former captain and current member of the club’s Institutional Relations Department, Marcos Senna, was the man who handed over this prize to the forward.
During October, Toko Ekambi scored three goals, which were during the Yellows two wins against RCD Espanyol (0-1) and Deportivo Alavés (4-1). Two great performances which saw our No.17 come out on top, ahead of Lucas Pérez (Deportivo Alavés) and Rui Silva (Granada CF), who were both nominated.
Third Yellow to get the LaLiga Player of the Month award
Toko Ekambi is the third Villarreal player to be named LaLiga Player of the Month, after Luciano Vietto in December 2015 and Cédric Bakambu, who won it in October 2017.
