The Valencian defender has now played 250 official matches for Villarreal CF
Yesterday, Jaume Costa reached his 250th game for Villarreal. The Valencian defender took to the pitch in the second half, replacing his team-mate Francis Coquelin. The Yellows No.21 played in midfield, a position which he has adapted to under Unai Emery, after largely playing as a left-back.
Costa has played 168 LaLiga matches, 32 Europa League matches, 32 Segunda División matches, 17 Copa del Rey games and 1 Champions League match for the Submarine.
Only Mario Gaspar, Manu Trigueros, and now Costa, in the current squad have reached this impressive 250-game mark.
