The Cantabrian coach regretted the defeat and acknowledged that the team lacked accuracy and conceded too much
Villarreal coach Quique Setién appeared before the media to analyse the defeat against RCD Mallorca: “We didn’t have a good feeling. We lacked clarity and inspiration to overcome Mallorca’s defensive lines. We were in control, but we lacked the mobility and we had to be more accurate at the back.”
The Santander-born coach also acknowledged that the Submarine have room for improvement: “We have to defend better, leave less space and generate actions where you can overcome the rival. We wanted to win and it wasn’t possible. We’ve barely been able to train together and see certain defensive aspects. This penalises us a lot. It’s a tough blow, but the team will improve.”
