The Yellows were defeated by Deportivo Alavés in a penalty shootout
Villarreal CF U12s, after finishing top of their group yesterday, were knocked out in the Round of 16 of the Pamesa LALIGA FC Futures National Tournament by Deportivo Alavés. Despite being the better side during normal time, the Yellows were beaten 5-6 on penalties.
In the first half, Juanma Blasco’s side created several dangerous chances led by David Akchouaa, Daniel Jaén and David Kazakov, but lacked finishing in front of goal. In the second half, the Yellows continued to show bravery in attack, with Daniel Jaén having the clearest chance in a one-on-one with the Alavés goalkeeper, but the ball refused to go in. Although they showed greater intent, luck was not on Villarreal’s side in the penalty shootout either, bringing their participation in the Pamesa LALIGA FC Futures National Tournament to an end.
