The club increases its financial contribution to €2.3 million and will also renovate the Massanassa and Alfafar pitches
Villarreal CF has donated an additional €300,000 to the ‘Alcem-se Esport’ programme to renovate two new pitches affected by the flooding in Valencia, the Campo Municipal in Alfafar and the Estadio Vicente Moreno in Massanassa. With this new economic contribution, the yellow club increases the total donation to the programme promoted by Juan Roig and the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso to €2,300,000, an amount with which a total of seven football pitches belonging to the areas affected by the FAD will finally be refurbished.
In this way, Villarreal has financed, in addition to the rehabilitation of the Alfafar and Massanassa pitches, the refurbishment of the Campo Municipal in La Torre, the Campo Municipal Encrucijadas in Aldaia, the Campo Municipal in Catarroja, the Campo Municipal in Beniparrell and the football pitch at the Polideportivo Joan Girbés in Algemesí.
Maximum commitment to recovering normality after the hurricane
In addition to the €2.3 million allocated by the club to the ‘Alcem-se Esport’ programme, Villarreal CF also donated €500,000 to Cáritas and the Red Cross to help those affected a few days after the natural disaster.
In its eagerness to contribute to the victims of the flooding, the Submarine announced last March that it will allocate around €100,000 to provide financial assistance to season ticket holders, club staff and youth players who suffered the greatest material damage as a result of the natural phenomenon.
The club will also renew the season ticket for next season free of charge for the 100 or so season ticket holders in the areas affected by this natural disaster.
Alcem-se Esport
The ‘Alcem-se Esport’ programme is the aid plan for sports clubs affected by the hurricane, promoted by Juan Roig’s sports patronage and channelled through the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso and Valencia Basket Club.
After the catastrophe at the end of October, more than 350 sports clubs from different sporting disciplines need help to return to normality. Villarreal CF decided to make a contribution of two million euros to the plan presented by the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso and Valencia Basket.
