Villarreal B beat Andorra with an Arana goal and an own goal from Adri

Before the game, it was hyped up up to be a great game and it lived up to the build-up. Villarreal B overcame Andorra thanks to goals from Juan Carlos Arana and an own goal after a great piece of individual play from Diego Collado (2-0). Miguel Álvarez’s side stay unbeaten and on fire at the top of the table.

The B team went into the game as league leaders, unbeaten, with seven wins and a draw. The match being played at the same time as the first team’s match in Bilbao meant that there were not as many people at the Mini Estadi as usual, but there was still a magnificent atmosphere.

It was a match with a lot of old Yellows Academy players returning to the Mini Estadi, with former Yellows Carlos Martínez, Josele, Roger Riera and Diego González in Andorra’s ranks.

The clash started with a clear chance for the Yellows. Nicolas Jackson went one-on-one with Ratti, with his shot hitting the post.

Arana then had another chance, saved by Ratti, and Nikita Iosifov also could have scored, but his shot was scuffed.

In the closing stages of the first half, Dani Tasende tried his luck with a powerful left-footed effort which was pushed out by Ratti, and Sergio Lozano was unable to find the back of the net with the rebound.

The Mini Submarine did eventually make it 1-0 at the start of the second half. Arana went after a ball that seemed to be lost, beat his marker and finished past an oncoming Ratti (m.51).

Andorra were left with ten men after a second yellow for Vergés, and Villarreal B extended their lead after Adri sent a Collado cross into his own box (2-0, m.84).

Este Villarreal B está imparable.
