The midfielder is enthusiastic and stresses the need to be stronger at home to beat Stade Rennais (Thursday, 9pm CEST)
Villarreal midfielder, Manu Trigueros, has appeared before the media, accompanying head coach, José Rojo ‘Pacheta’, to analyse the European match against Stade Rennais (Thursday, 9pm CEST).
The legendary Yellows player is excited about the return of the UEFA Europa League to Vila-real: “We are very excited. I’m sure the city is looking forward to enjoying European matches and historic nights like we have done before.”
Manu Trigueros also analysed the match against Stade Rennais: “They are a strong opponent. French teams are always tough. In Europe there are no easy games. We want to win in front of our home fans, to be solid at home so that we don’t have any problems in the group stage.”
In the same vein, Villarreal’s No.14 highlighted the virtues of the Yellows’ opponents: “They are a young, strong and very dynamic team. They attack the spaces well. We have to show our experience to play this type of game. It will be a vital match for our interests.”
On the other hand, Trigueros assured that the team is on an upward trend after the last few games: “We are growing. The last few league visits we’ve been down to 10 men and that has marked the games. We’re more together, we’re more solid and it’s difficult to score goals against us, but with the essence of having the ball, being attacking, that’s never going to change at Villarreal CF.”
