The prestigious Easter tournament will take part from 28th to 31st March
The Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter is back this Easter! The tournament organised by Villarreal CF will once again bring together more than 15,000 people, including players, coaches, family members and staff, from 28th to 31st March. In recent times, the competition has become one of the most popular events in the province.
In this edition, 180 teams from more than 60 clubs are expected to participate, divided into 10 different groups, from U19s to U8s, including two women’s groups. In addition, the tournament will be attended by international teams from countries such as Argentina, United Arab Emirates, Colombia, Peru, United States and Italy. On a domestic level, some of the best youth teams in Spain will be present, such as Levante UD, Valencia CF, FC Barcelona, Girona FC, Real Sociedad and Osasuna.
Likewise, the event will be held in five of the most prestigious venues in our province: the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground, the Pamesa Cerámica Training Ground, the CEM Pau Francisco Torres, and the Alqueries sports complex and Fundación Flors.
The Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter, apart from being a great showcase to showcase the talent of thousands of young footballers, is an opportunity to promote tourism in the province and expand the Villarreal CF brand. In addition, the more than 2,500 footballers and almost 400 head coaches will stay in the cities of Castellón de la Plana, Vila-real, La Vall d’Uixó, Alcossebre and Benicàssim, so, not counting the local clubs, it is expected that there will be 7,500 overnight stays in hotels for three nights in the province, and the families, players and staff of the 180 participating teams will be able to enjoy the Costa Azahar during the holidays.
An unforgettable party at the Estadio de la Cerámica
The experience of being able to play the tournament in the Submarine’s sports facilities is already a prize for the young footballers, but in addition, the 180 participating teams will receive a guided tour of the Estadio de la Cerámica.
The participants will have the opportunity to complete a tour of the most exclusive areas of the Estadio La Cerámica: the press room, the dugouts, the changing rooms where the players get ready for each match and, most exciting of all, go pitchside.
In addition, on the evening of Thursday 28th March, an unforgettable opening party will be organised inside the Estadio de la Cerámica, which will be marked by a flag parade with the participation of all the teams.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Yellows have organised other activities outside of the competition itself, such as a signing with Villarreal CF first team players and Villarreal Women players, a talk with Marcos Senna for those accompanying the players and a Welcome Pack.
Follow the tournament live on social media and the app!
Fans will be able to follow the Yellow Cup Easter live. A stream will be set up at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground to broadcast all the impressions, curiosities and interviews during the three days of the competition. Participants, coaches, family members, Villarreal Club de Fútbol sporting institutions, professional players and anyone else who joins the Yellow Cup party will all be involved in the broadcast.
As in previous editions, many of the matches of the competition will be broadcast. The matches that will be broadcast live will take place at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground: two 7-a-side football pitches and one 11-a-side football pitch.
