Jennifer López, Sheila Aleixandre, Balma Villamarín and Eva Gimeno have 100 goals between them
A century of goals. Villarreal girls U12s (Femenino Alevín) players Jennifer López, Sheila Aleixandre, Balma Villamarín and Eva Gimeno have reached the impressive 100-goal mark in just 19 league games. Between the four, they’ve scored more goals than the majority of the 8-a-side girls’ football teams in the Region of Valencia.
Jennifer, with 30 goals, is the team’s top scorer, but her team-mates aren’t shy at finding the back of the net either. Sheila and Balma have 25. Eva completes this exceptional attack, having scored 20 goals. The generosity and teamwork are two particularly important parts of the side, who aren’t focused just on scoring, but on having fun on the pitch, with an impressive level of football.
The connection between these four players goes beyond their goalscoring records. They also have a number of assists between them. The good relationship between the four is paying off, despite it being the first season that they play together. Jennifer and Eva shared a changing room last season, while Balma and Sheila joined the Yellows this campaign.
The Yellow’s ‘Fantastic Four’ finish in front of goal the hard work of the rest of their team. The girls U12 side speak the same language on the pitch as their attacking team-mates, whether it be the goalkeepers, defenders or midfielders.
Unstoppable and unbeaten
The team, coached by Juanma López and Adrián Falomir, ended the first stage of their season top of the league. This second part of the season, which has seen them drawn along the best teams from 8-a-side girls football across the Region of Valencia, hasn’t seen a drop off. They’re top of the table, without a single defeat or draw.
Edith, security between the sticks
If the girls have some impressive numbers, it has to be because of their solidity. The defenders’ hard work is shown each weekend, alongside goalkeeper Edith López. In her first season wearing yellow, she shows great reflexes and good positioning between the sticks. She has conceded just 10 goals in 19 games, making her the keeper who has let in the fewest goals in her league.
She has also been called up to the Region of Valencia U12s side, alongside team-mates such as Jennifer López, Sheila Aleixandre, Mar Boix and María Segarra.
