Villarreal have held the official renaming ceremony in honour of the club’s legendary vice-president
Villarreal CF’s Training Ground is now officially called the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground. Led by president Fernando Roig, the club held the renaming ceremony this Friday in honour of the club’s legendary vice-president.
This emotional event in memory of Llaneza, which took place exactly one year after his death, was attended by the Villarreal president, whose speech was accompanied by the mayor of Vila-real, José Benlloch; the president of the APV, Javier Pérez; José Manuel’s daughter, Mar Llaneza; head of the LALIGA presidency office, Víctor Martín; and the first team footballer and academy graduate, Álex Baena.
The event was attended by more than 300 people. The club’s board of directors, the first team, Villarreal Women and Villarreal B players, José Manuel Llaneza’s family members, representatives from LALIGA, the Federación de Fútbol de la Comunitat Valenciana (Valencian Football Federation), as well as from Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Valencia CF, RCD Espanyol and Albacete Balompié were all present. Also in attendance were members of the APV and Endavant Esports athletes and clubs.
