A family of Groguets have adopted the dog featured against Atlético de Madrid thanks to the Endavant Solidaritat initiative
Neo has found a new home. The young puppy of AUPA, star of the ‘Canine Art’ initiative during the match against Atlético de Madrid, has been adopted by a family of Groguets from Castellón de la Plana.
Neo’s new family are big fans of the Submarine. The older of the two brothers, Marc Alcón Climent, 15, plays in the Villarreal youth academy, while Àlex Alcón Climent, ten, plays for CD Roda, a Submarine club.
After some time weighing up the option of adopting a puppy, Villarreal CF presented this initiative to encourage the adoption of abandoned dogs and introduced Neo, who his new family fell in love with at first sight. They decided to meet him and he is now one of the family in his new home.
Now, Mostaza, the protagonist of the match against RC Celta, is waiting for her chance. A female mongrel, of medium size and three years old, she is also looking for a new home and to be able to have the same luck as her friend Neo.
More about ‘Canine Art’
Villarreal CF has teamed up with AUPA (Adopta Un Perro Abandonado – Adopt an Abandoned Dog) to promote an original initiative with the aim of raising awareness of the dogs and encouraging their adoption by fans and rivals.
To give visibility to the animals, Villarreal CF has ‘commissioned’ the dogs to design the institutional detail of the 2024/25 season. It consists of 20×25 cm artistic tiles, created by 19 dogs from the Valencian shelter.
Each one of them will be the star of the Yellow Submarine’s matches, with the aim of making them known among the fans and helping them to find an adoptive family.
Each institutional gift is unique and unrepeatable. The dogs, their paws dipped in paint in the distinctive colours of the rival teams, walk on a blank canvas, creating a unique design for each match. This abstract creation is printed on a ceramic tile, the star product of our land.
Thanks to this innovative campaign christened ‘Canine Art’, Villarreal CF aims to raise awareness among its fans and its rivals of the importance of not abandoning animals, as well as encouraging the adoption of homeless dogs. All this by combining ceramics and charitable work, two of the club’s hallmarks.
